Our Weights and Measures Inspections services authorize us to inspect scales, gas pumps and other measuring devices for use in the Canadian marketplace. This comes with ongoing due diligence and improvement of our services with the help of the Governments Measurement Canada team.
In Canada, weights and measures inspections make sure gas pumps dispense the correct amount of fuel they claim on the display and charge you correctly. As stated, this is regulated by Measurement Canada, part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
Measurement Canada has service delivery programs in place that enable qualified private sector authorized service providers to inspect scales, gas pumps and other measuring devices for use in the Canadian marketplace.
Weights and Measures are mandatory equipment inspections that require regular intervals in Measurement Canada's listed categories, one of those categories being Retail and Downstream Petroleum. This inspection needs to be completed every two years to ensure your equipment is safe, reliable, and accurate. All equipment and inspections are the responsibility of the operator.
